The Islanders shutout the Sharks 7-0

Aaro Sinisalo had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Cape Cod Islanders crushed the Long Beach Sharks 7-0 in a home game at Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena in Cape Cod. In addition, Hunter Norris posted a shutout, stopping all 27 of the Sharks shots throughout the game. The Cape Cod Islanders took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Jack Conway and never looked back.

Leevi Kervinen delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Jack Conway had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 goals.

During the first period, Conway opened the scoring for the Islanders with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:34 with helpers from teammates Sinisalo and Davis. St. Amand quickly followed with a goal at 9:00 with assists from his linemates, Sinisalo and Kervinen.

In the second period, Kervinen netted a goal at 12:31 with helpers from Davis and St. Amand.

During the third, Conway deposited a goal at 1:10 with assists from Marston and Davis. Little scored a goal at 14:01 with helpers from Sinisalo and Hinckley. Kervinen quickly followed with a goal at 16:00 with assists from his linemates, Doyon and Egan. Sinisalo put in a goal at 18:57 with a helper from defenseman Dougherty.

The Islanders’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Norris’ shutout, as he stopped all 27 of the shots he faced. Norris’ counterpart, Cortez, also had a big night, managing to stop 59 of 66, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Cape Cod Islanders’ record to (11-30-1-1).
