The Cape Cod Islanders' offense had a big night, peppering the Maine Wild with 36 shots throughout the game. The Cape Cod Islanders took the lead early in the third on a goal from Cam St. Amand.
Cam St. Amand chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Leevi Kervinen did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the second, Kervinen opened the scoring for the Islanders with a goal at 3:18 with helpers from teammates Little and St. Amand. St. Amand put in a goal at 16:02 with helpers from Dougherty and Kervinen.
In the third, Bannon finally put the Wild on the board with a goal at 1:29 with assists from his linemates, Gratz and Webb. St. Amand answered for Cape Cod with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:41 with an assist from fellow Islanders forward Constable. Dorman answered for Maine with a goal at 19:54 with helpers from his linemates, Decarolis and Mehall.
The Islanders’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Paxson’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced. Paxson’s counterpart, Jenkins, also had a big night, managing to stop 33 of 36, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Cape Cod Islanders’ record to (6-16-1-0).
