The Islanders crushed the Sharks 5-1

The Cape Cod Islanders' offense had a big night, peppering the Long Beach Sharks with 52 shots throughout the game. The Cape Cod Islanders took the lead early in the second on a goal from Nick Marston.

Leevi Kervinen did his part, adding 2 goals and Cody Doyon contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Kervinen opened the scoring for the Islanders with a goal at 16:54 with a helper from his linemate St. Amand.

In the second period, Marston netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:52 with an assist from Doyon. Sinisalo deposited a goal at 4:59 with helpers from St. Amand and Hinckley.

In the third, Carlock finally put Long Beach on the board with a goal at 4:03 with assists from his linemates, Bergman and Walsh. Kervinen answered for Cape Cod with a goal at 10:08 with a helper from St. Amand. Doyon netted a goal at 16:31.

The Islanders’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Wilson as he stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced. Wilson’s counterpart, Vutci, also had a big night, managing to stop 47 of 52, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Cape Cod Islanders’ record to (12-30-1-1).
