Steve Matthews Signs with Cape Cod

The Cape Cod Islanders head coach, Jay Punsky is pleased to announce the signing on Steve Matthews for the 2015-16 season.  Matthews the six foot 190 pound right shot forward is a player that the Islanders will be looking to to provide a presence in the locker room.  Matthews adds to an impressive list of former captains that will don the black and gold this season.

Matthews prides himself on his blue collar approach and like most players in the 3EHL wants to play college hockey. "I like to think of myself as a hard nosed player who can score the occasional pretty goal.  I want to get a college degree and play hockey at the highest level possible."

Coach Punsky had this to say about Matthews."Steve is a guy that has that "it" factor." Punsky said "He works hard and will lead by example, we fully expect him to hold himself and his teammates to a very high standard."
