Late goal as the Islanders fall to the Minutemen 4-3

Kami Kortelainen scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Cape Cod Islanders narrowly lost to the East Coast Minutemen 4-3 in a home game at Essex Sports Center in Cape Cod. As well, the Cape Cod Islanders' defense had a poor night, allowing the Minutemen 45 shots throughout the game.

Matt Schriner chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Cam Crowley did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Albert Wiggins contributed with 2 assists.

During the first period, Steeves opened the scoring for East Coast with a goal at 7:07 with helpers from teammates Pristhaznyuk and Brochu. Crowley netted a goal at 14:20 with helpers from Swanson and Wiggins.

In the second, Pollock finally put the Islanders on the board with a goal at 10:35 with assists from Davis and Brosnan.

During the third, Schriner deposited a goal at 1:49 with helpers from Hinckley and Roy. Powers answered for East Coast with a goal at 17:07 with assists from Harding and Wiggins. Kortelainen quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:30 with a helper from defenseman Crowley. Marston quickly followed with a goal at 19:07 with assists from Schriner and Tobey.

This loss brings the Cape Cod Islanders’ record to (54-34-4-2)
