The Cape Cod Islanders are pleased to announce that forward James Brosnan has committed to East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. Brosnan played in his third season for the Islanders this past winter and is looking forward to moving on to college.
“I couldn’t be happier to be going to East Texas Baptist” Brosnan said “it’s a great school and has a new hockey program that just came off a very successful first season. I am looking forward to playing for the Tigers next season. I can’t thank Dan Hodge and my Islanders teammates enough for helping me get this chance. Coming here three years ago changed my life and I’ll never forget my time as an Islander.”
The 6’3″ 180 lb center scored 14 goals and added 12 assists in 44 regular season games this year. He will be joining former Islander teammate, Dylan Legarie next year at ETBU.
“This is such a great day for the Islanders. James has been a fixture here for three seasons and I am overjoyed that he was able to earn this opportunity to go to college and earn a degree while playing hockey.” Islanders president Dan Hodge said “He has had such a profound impact on my organization and I am so proud to say that he was a member of my team.”
East Texas Baptist Tigers is an ACHA D 2 program that plays in the Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference.
The Cape Cod Islanders now have 6 college commitments from the 2016-17 team
