Jake Davis Re Signs with Islanders

Cape Cod Islanders Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Jay Punsky is pleased to annouce the re-signing of defensman Jake Davis for the 2016-17 season.  Davis, the 6'4" 235 pound Bourne, Ma native was a stalwart on the blueline the Islanders, playing in 42 regualr season games and recorded 1 goal, 9 assists and had 44 PIM while earnig a +10 rating.  He also saw action in all six postseason games and had one assist and was a plus one.

"We are very pleased that Jake is returning to play for us next season" coach Punsky said "He saw time in every situation last season and his experience will benefit our team this season.  He's a big, physical defenseman who isn't afraid to punish any player who is carrying the puck with their head down."

Davis was a key player on the penalty kill and as the season progressed, he got more comfortable and garnered more ice time as the season progessed.  "We were so pleased with Jake's development over the season.  Junior hockey is a big jump both mentally and physically and Jake handled both very well.  We are expecting big things from him next season."
