Islanders Skate Past Minutemen

A four-goal first period deficit cost East Coast, which could not recover and fell to Cape Cod, 6-2.

Cape Cod got the win with help from a great game by Chuck Costello, who had one goal and two assists. Costello scored 18:34 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Cape Cod. Aaron Deady picked up the assist.

Cape Cod surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Cape Cod has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Cape Cod also got points from Deady, who also registered two goals and one assist. Cape Cod also got a goal from Chris ODonnell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cape Cod were Dylan Legarie, James Brosnan, and Joe Brennan, who each chipped in one and Frank Oakley, Mike Jessman, and Karl-Eric Demers, who contributed two each.

East Coast put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cape Cod to score on any of its five power plays.

Cape Cod incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. East Coast incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.

 

Isles Defeat Stars with O'Donnell's Late Heroics

Anton Zemba stood on his head and made 28 saves to lead Cape Cod to a 3-1 victory over New England.

Cape Cod was sparked by Chris ODonnell, who tallied one goal. ODonnell scored 10:48 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cape Cod. Dan Moore assisted on the tally.

Cape Cod's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four New England power plays. Cape Cod forced New England goalie Dominic Lamanno to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Cape Cod also had goals scored by Aaron Deady and Maxime Dordet, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Cape Cod were Chuck Costello, who had two and Dylan Legarie, Frank Oakley, and Mike Jessman, who each chipped in one.

New England put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cape Cod to score on any of its six power plays.

New England was led by Brandon Hamner, who scored the team's only goal. Hamner scored 4:28 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jake Latham provided the assist.

Cape Cod incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Dominic Lamanno made 46 saves for New England on 48 shots. New England incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. New England ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hamner was ejected from the game.
