Islanders Sign Defenseman Zack Goodman

The Cape Cod Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Zack Goodman, the signing is the first for newly named head coach Jay Punsky.  Goodman is a five foot seven inch 165 pound speedy defenseman who will be a big part of the Islanders back end and will add an offenseive component the Isles have lacked in recent years. 

"Zack is an offensive, puck moving defenseman with exceptional vision and can create offense for us" coach Punsky said.  "One thing that sets Zack apart is his hockey IQ, he really understands the game and knows what it takes to be successful.  We are very pleased to have him be a part of the organization as he embodies what Islander hockey is all about."

Goodman hails from New York and lists the New York Rangers and Mark Staal as his favorite team and player respectivley.  His goals are to go to college and have the chance to display his talents at the college level.
