Islanders Prepare for Showdown with Fighting Spirit

The Cape Cod Islanders (11-4-1 23 pts) will host the Lewiston Auburn Fighting Spirit (13-1-0 26 pts) on Halloween night in Falmouth.  Puck drop is at 5:30 pm, tickets are just $5 kids 10 and under get in free.

The game will feature the two top teams in the Eastern Conference on the NA3EHL.  It will also feature two of the top three goalies in the 3EHL.  Anton Zemba (5-2 1.38 GAA) is second in the league behind Spirit netminder Zachary Barry (5-0 .80 GAA) and is followed closely by the Spirit's other goalie Claus Endre (8-1 1.44 GAA). 

The Spirit boasts one of the top power play units in the league where the Islanders stingy penalty kill is sure to be a key matchup.

The Spirit has won the two previous meetings 3-2 and 1-0.  Both games were played in Lewiston. 

"This is a huge test for us" said Cape head coach Jay Punsky, whose team has won 6 of 7 "the Spirit is the team to beat in the East and if we want to acheive our goals we have to be able to show we can compete with the best."
