Islanders Look Forward to Big Weekend Against Stars

The Cape Cod Islanders have a home and home series this weekend versus the New England Stars this weekend in a battle of second and third place in the eastern division of the NA3EHL.  The Islanders currently sit in third place, five points behind the Stars, and they know they will need a strong weekend to improve their position in the division.  The Islanders are coming off the NA3E showcase weekend in Nashua, NH where they went 1-1-1.  The Islanders played three games in the span of 24 hours, two of the three games went to overtime, one of which went to a shootout.

"We had two great games against Jersey Shore and Roc City, Sunday's loss to Lockport was a product of playing three games in such a short time.  We were not able to get ourselves going and Lockport really took it to us."

The Islanders now shift their focus to the New England Stars and their home and home series this weekend.  The two teams face off Saturday night at Tony Kent Arena in Dennis and then play the away portion on Sunday at Skate 3 in Tyngsboro.   The teams have split the previous two meetings, with each team winning the road game.  The Stars won the first meeting 4-2 in Dennis with the Islanders winning the next day 2-1 in Tyngsboro.  "We have always had a great rivalry with the Stars.  The games are always competitive and are full off energy, both teams know each other very well."
