Islanders Ink Chris O'Donnell

Head Coach Jay Punsky is wasting little time putting his stamp on the 2015-16 version of the Cape Cod Islanders.  Today is no different as the Islanders announce the signing of former Pennsylvania high school standout, Chris O'Donnell.  The five foot eight 165 pound winger comes to the Cape from the Grundy Senators where he scored 10 goals and added 31 assists in just 26 games.  As an assistant captain he lead his team to the Tier II National Championships.  O'Donnell is no stranger to sucess when it comes to hockey as he and Islander teammate Joe Brennan guided Father Judge High School to the Pennsylvania State Championship.

Coach Punsky is very excited to have O'Donnell on board for this season.  "Chris is a special talent, he has great speed, he excels in the corners and he knows how to use his speed to create off the rush.  We are going to be looking to him to be a leader, he has playoff experience and has won a state championship. He knows what it takes to be a champion and that's the attitude we want here."

As a Philadelphia native, it is no surprise that O'Donnell's favorite NHL team is the Philadelphia Flyers.  He lists Patrick Kane as his favorite player, from what he has shown he has adapted some Kane attributes in his game and we can't wait to see him in the black and gold.
