Goaltender Clayton Pierce Signs with Cape Cod

The Cpae Cod Islanders are proud to announce the signing of goaltender Clayton Pierce for the 2015-16 season.  Pierce was scouted last month at the Elite Edge Showcase in Nashville by head coach Jay Punsky.  "Clayton was the goalie I keyed on from day one.  He battled through traffic to establish his position and competed in every situation.  His composure and quick lateral movment had him in position to make even the most difficult saves look routine."

Pierce joins Anton Zemba and Jonathan Stone as the Islanders goaltenders this season.  There will be fierce competition for game time at the position.  "I love it when there is healthy competition at all positions.  These three guys will push each other to be their best every day, wether it is in practice or a game."

Clayton Pierce hails from Salem, Virginia he is a fan of the Montreal Canadiens and his favorite NHL player is Pekka Rinne. The five foot ten inch goalie prides himself on work ethic and he has a clear path for himself.  "My dream is to play college hockey and live a successful life where I can pay back the people who have helped me achieve my goals." Pierce said.
