Eldridge Returns to Islanders

The Cape Cod Islanders are excited to announce that Bourne, Ma native and Islanders veteran, Mitch Eldridge has agreed to return for the 2016-17 season.  Eldridge saw action in 38 games and registered 5 goals and 9 assists while being +12 on the season.  While being cast in more of a support role last season, coach Punsky expects big things from him.

"We are excited to have Mitch back for next season.  He is the consumate team player, we had him play in every position, including spending time on defense towards the end of the season." Coach Punsky said "Going from being a high school standout at Bourne to more of a depth guy here had to be tough on him, but he never complained and showed up to work every day.  His adjustment year is over and we are expecting very big things from Mitch Eldridge next season.  His leadership and work ethic will push everyone to be better."

The Islanders are the defending division champs and have a lot of expectations for next season. Veteran players are important at the junior level and will be the key to the success of this team.  "We are getting more and more of our players from last season looking to return.  It says a lot about coach Punsky and the job he did last season." team president Dan Hodge said  "A core group of players like Mitch will set the standard for the new players."
