The Cape Cod Islanders head coach, Jay Punsky is pleased to announce the signing of Dylan Legarie for the 2015-16 season. Legarie, the six foot one inch 200 pound forward will bring size and scoring to the Islanders this season. Legarie has great vision and his grit and determination is what sets him a part from the average junior hockey player. The other things that puts him in a different class is the fact that he is every bit as good patrolling the blue line as a defenseman as he is in the offensive zone.
"Legarie is a natural leader who not only knows the game of hockey but respects how it should be played." coach Punsky said "It doesn't matter the importance of the game, wether it's in July or March, Dylan is a guy you can count on to be the hardest worker on the ice."
Legarie played for coach Punsky's summer team this past weekend in the Chowder Cup tournament and he dominated the scoresheet netting 3 goals and 2 assists in five games played. He was on a line with fellow Islander, Aaron Deady and the duo did not disappoint with Deady matching Legarie's point total with five points of his own. Islanders president Dan Hodge was in attendance on Saturday morning and was impressed with what he saw from Legarie. "I was immidiately taken by his on ice presence, he's extremely poised and knows how to control the game. He's a very talented young man and I can see him getting a lot of college attention this season."
Legarie was one of ten Islanders playing for coach Punsky this past weekend. They helped propell the Little Rhody Hockey Club into the quarter finals where they lost in a shootout. "It was a great showing by our guys, they showed heart and the desire to win. There is already a team chemistry being built and I am looking forward to our first team skate in September." Punsky said
