Meet the Coach

Coach Barry O’Neil begins his first year as Head Coach of the Cape Cod Islanders this upcoming fall for the 2017-18 season. Falmouth Ma, native, Barry grew up and learned how to play the game in this town which adds an exciting dynamic for him. Recent graduate of Nichols College, where he was a part of their two time ECAC-NE Championship team, he learned how a successful program operates top to bottom. Prior to Nichols he was a Bridgton Academy Wolverine and a Bridgewater Bandit where he learned from some of the best coaches in the area like Jon Lounsbury. During the offseason he trained with Paul Vincent and Dan Hodge where he learned the finer points of the game, mechanics of skill development, and how to think the game quicker and more effectively.

“My goal going into this season is to create an environment that brings the best out in my players both on and off the ice. I want to prepare them for their next step and give them the best opportunity to continue their careers at a collegiate level or the next level of Junior hockey.”
