The Cape Cod Islanders are proud to announce that goaltender Anton Zemba has committed to play hockey at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Zemba is in his second year with the Islanders, so far this year he has posted a 15-5-0-2 record. He was scouted at the NA3HL Showcase in Blaine Minnesota.
“We are very excited to welcome Anton to our program and Lawrence University. His compete level and athleticism will be a great compliment to our team.” Head Coach Mike Szkodzinski said “Anton is a very mature and driven young man and we are confident that he will be an excellent addition to our locker room and university.”
Zemba is a native North Smithfield, Rhode Island and is very happy to have the opportunity to play NCAA college hockey. “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of Lawrence University. When I visited, I felt an immediate connection to the school.” Zemba continues “I am thrilled to have the chance to attend at a university that will challenge me both academically and athletically. Playing NCAA hockey has been a goal of mine for a long time, I am incredibly grateful to coack Szodzinski for giving me this opportunity. I’d like to thank the Islanders organization for providing me a platform to be scouted by Lawrence University. I’d especially like to thank my parents for their support and guidance throughout the years.”
